All individuals accessing CGL/KIKIT services will have potential
barriers to overcome. However, people from BAME
communities may face additional barriers involving ethnicity,
cultural beliefs, language or faith.
Ensuring that individual’s access to recovery services is not
hindered by their ethnicity, culture or faith, CGL and KIKIT have
developed and designed a “Diversity in Recovery Programme”
a 6-session psychosocial programme.
The programme explains the context and the need for positive
action and aims to empower service users to identify and
address their obstacles and barriers to recovery.
The 6-session programme consists of 3 phases which aid
individuals by following a procedure through identifying
obstacles, breaking down barriers and making changes,
building tools to continue and grow and then utilizing their
assets positively to achieve successful recovery and live their
best life.
The 3 Phases are:
– Obstacles to Recovery (Change)
– Tools to Recovery (Grow)
– Into Recovery (Live)
