Responsibilities:

As an Addiction Recovery Support Worker, you will be at the forefront of our mission, working directly with service users to help them navigate their recovery journey. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Deliver culturally sensitive substance misuse support through structured 1:1 sessions and group programme facilitation.
• Facilitate drop-in sessions and support access to harm reduction advice and services.
• Assess client needs and develop tailored, holistic care plans in partnership with each individual.
• Engage with BAME communities via outreach engagement to raise awareness of substance misuse, recovery support, and harm reduction.
• Provide information, guidance, and referrals to partner services, including mental health, housing, and welfare.
• Support clients to attend appointments and access services.
• Support prison leavers into integrating back into the community & accessing recovery services.
• Monitor progress and update care plans as clients move through their recovery journey.
• Keep accurate records of sessions, care plans, referrals, and outcomes.
• Work closely with outreach, engagement, and clinical teams to provide a seamless support pathway.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all service users.
• Uphold confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection standards at all times.

Skills & Experience

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who shares our values and is ready to bring their passion and skills to our team. To be successful in this role, you should:

• Substance Misuse Expertise: Have a strong understanding of complex substance misuse and homelessness issues, with experience working in a similar field.
• Excellent Communication: Be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing. You should be comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life and have the IT skills necessary to maintain accurate records.
• Proactive and Organized: Be proactive and able to work on your own initiative, managing your time effectively and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Mental Health Knowledge: Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
• Team Player: Be a supportive and collaborative team member, capable of working in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Adaptable and Resilient: Be flexible and able to manage change successfully, always putting the needs of service users first.
• Commitment to Learning: Be committed to continuous learning, both for yourself and for others. You should be eager to expand your professional knowledge and contribute to the development of your colleagues.
• Caseload Management: Be capable of managing a small caseload of vulnerable service users, conducting comprehensive assessments, and delivering personalized care plans.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in Health or Social Care, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in using IT and Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher).

Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience in the Health & Social Care sector (preferred).

Licence/Certification:

• NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required).
