Volunteer Community Connector

About the Role

Do you enjoy meeting people, getting involved in your community and making a positive difference?

As a Volunteer Community Connector, you’ll work alongside the KIKIT team to connect with local communities, raise awareness of drug and alcohol support and help people find the right services when they need them.

No two days are the same – you could be supporting a community event, chatting with local residents, helping at an awareness workshop or spreading the word about KIKIT’s services.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Helping us challenge stigma and start positive conversations.
  • Empowering and engaging with people in the community.
  • Supporting local events, workshops and outreach activities.
  • Raising awareness of KIKIT and drug and alcohol support.
  • Helping people find and access the right support services.
  • Sharing health, wellbeing and harm reduction information.
  • Building positive links with community and faith organisations.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an expert – we’ll provide training and support!

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, approachable and a good listener.
  • Passionate about helping people and communities.
  • Respectful and non-judgemental.
  • Comfortable meeting and talking to new people.
  • Reliable and happy to be part of a team.

Community knowledge, additional languages or lived experience are welcomed, but not essential.

What’s In It for You?

You’ll gain training, practical outreach experience and new skills, while becoming part of a friendly team working to make a real difference across Birmingham.

Most importantly, you’ll help connect people with support that could change their lives.

Interested? Come and connect with your community – we’d love to hear from you!
