If so, KIKIT Pathways to Recovery invites you to join our dynamic and dedicated team as an Addiction Recovery Support Worker.
KIKIT is a leading BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) recovery service based in the heart of Birmingham. We are committed to delivering culturally sensitive and effective support to individuals from diverse backgrounds who are on their journey to recovery from addiction. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause, engage with the community, and be part of a team that is passionate about fostering positive change.
Why Work With Us?
At KIKIT, we believe in the power of community and the potential within every individual. Our team is driven by a shared commitment to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. We recognize that recovery is a journey, and we are here to walk alongside those we serve, offering hope, encouragement, and the tools needed to succeed.
When you join KIKIT, you become part of a vibrant, innovative organization that is leading the way in culturally competent addiction recovery services. We celebrate diversity, champion inclusivity, and are always striving to improve and expand our impact.
Responsibilities:
As an Addiction Recovery Support Worker, you will be at the forefront of our mission, working directly with service users to help them navigate their recovery journey. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Personalized Support: Provide one-on-one support to individuals from the point of entry into our service, throughout their treatment, and as they transition into recovery. You will be their advocate, guide, and source of strength as they work to overcome addiction.
- Psychosocial Interventions: Deliver tailored psychosocial interventions that address the unique needs of our service users within the community. Your work will help individuals build resilience, develop coping strategies, and reclaim control over their lives.
- Outreach and Engagement: Conduct proactive outreach across Birmingham to engage with and register vulnerable individuals from hard-to-reach communities. Your efforts will bring hope and opportunity to those who might otherwise slip through the cracks.
- Integrated Partnership Working: Collaborate with a range of partnership agencies to deliver an integrated, holistic service. You’ll work closely with mental health professionals, social workers, housing services, and other key stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for our service users.
- Follow-up and Retention: Proactively follow up with service users who miss appointments to re-engage them in their recovery process. Your persistence can make all the difference in keeping someone on the path to recovery.
- Social Reintegration: Support service users in their journey towards social reintegration, helping them to build a meaningful, purposeful life post-recovery. You’ll promote recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination, empowering individuals to thrive in their communities.
Values and Culture:
At KIKIT, we don’t just have a mission statement; we live by our passion statement. Our passion drives everything we do, from celebrating successes to innovating new approaches to care. We are:
- Celebrating Success: We recognize and celebrate every step forward, no matter how small, because each success brings us closer to our ultimate goal.
- Innovative and Creative: We aren’t afraid to think outside the box. We constantly seek out new ways to better serve our community and challenge the status quo.
- Determined and Resilient: We persist, even when the road gets tough. We believe in our work, our service users, and the power of change.
- Courageous and Honest: We speak up when something isn’t right and are open to feedback, always striving to learn and grow.
- Empowering and Nurturing: Above all, we are here to support and empower others, helping them reach out with hope and achieve their full potential.
