Become a Volunteer at KIKIT Project

KIKIT supports the health and social care needs of people from hard to reach and marginalised communities, including Black, Asian, Minority and Ethnic communities (BAME). We work predominantly with the BAME communities but our doors are open to anybody who needs help, whatever their colour or creed.

We provide innovative community-based activities and structured treatment programmes that guide, mentor and support people to address issues including substance misuse, health and social wellbeing and community safety.

We seek to improve health and wellbeing and motivate people to find effective pathways to recovery that enable them to contribute positively to their communities and wider society and lead independent, healthy and productive lives.

Volunteering, and the energy and expertise that can be brought to the organisation through this process, is very important to us – We strongly believe volunteers have also helped shaped our organisation to provide the best quality of care within our communities.

Benefits

  • Work experience in an exciting, forward-thinking organisation.
  • Training and personal development opportunities – we want you to have a richer experience than just photocopying and filing!
  • Flexible opportunities that are shaped to fit your availability.

Opportunities

The opportunities at KIKIT vary during the year, so please see our website for further details or contact us on the details below. Possible placements include:

  • Administrative support for specific projects and involvement in the whole project delivery process.
  • Organisational experience, including shadowing opportunities that will help you really understand the workings of an organisation such as KIKIT.

We are also open to your suggestions for particular work, for instance you may have a project in mind that links into your area of study (i.e. your dissertation).  Please put as much information on the enquiry form as you can, and we’ll contact you for further information if we need it.

Expenses

KIKIT will endeavour to reimburse you for all or part of your outreach travel expenses.  This will depend on your travel costs and the number of days you are in the office and will be agreed in the initial volunteer meeting.
