BIRCH

KIKIT’s Birmingham Inclusive Recovery City Hub

At the heart of Digbeth, Birmingham, KIKIT BIRCH (Birmingham Inclusive Recovery City Hub) stands as a beacon of hope, inclusivity, and transformation. More than just a recovery service, BIRCH is a one-stop hub bringing together organisations, professionals, and community partners under one roof to provide holistic and culturally sensitive support for individuals and families affected by drugs, alcohol, and related challenges.

Our vision is simple yet powerful: to create an inclusive space where every voice is heard, every culture is respected, and every recovery journey is supported.

BIRCH is built on the principles of collaboration, compassion, and community empowerment. By uniting Birmingham’s diverse recovery services in one central location, we ensure service users no longer need to navigate a fragmented system. Instead, they can access a comprehensive network of support tailored to their unique needs, all in a welcoming and accessible environment.

What BIRCH Offers

Holistic Recovery Support – From detox programmes and rehabilitation referrals to mental health support, mutual aid support, and aftercare, BIRCH provides wraparound services to sustain long-term recovery.

Culturally Competent Services – Recognising Birmingham’s diversity, we ensure interventions are faith-sensitive, culturally aware, and inclusive of BAME communities often underrepresented in traditional recovery pathways.

Health & Wellbeing – A focus on whole-person wellbeing, including physical health checks, fitness and nutrition, mindfulness, and creative therapies.

Education, Training & Employment – Skills development, vocational training, and pathways into volunteering and employment to support sustainable futures.

Community & Family Support – Recognising recovery as a collective journey, BIRCH provides safe spaces for families, carers, and loved ones to receive guidance and support.

Why Digbeth?

Digbeth’s rich cultural heritage and central location make it the perfect home for BIRCH. The hub reflects the area’s spirit of creativity and community, ensuring accessibility and visibility for people across Birmingham.

Our Mission

To make Birmingham a truly Inclusive Recovery City – where recovery is not a hidden struggle but a celebrated journey, supported by the whole community.

At KIKIT BIRCH, we believe recovery is more than overcoming addiction; it’s about building a life of purpose, connection, and resilience.
