What should I expect once I enter treatment?

Entering treatment can feel daunting, and it’s completely normal to feel nervous or uncertain about what lies ahead. At KIKIT Pathways to Recovery CIC, we often say that the hardest step is walking through the door — and once you do, you won’t be facing recovery alone.

From your first contact with us, you will be met with respect, dignity, and understanding. We recognise the additional cultural, social, and personal barriers that people from Black, Asian, and Minoritised communities may face, and our approach is culturally informed, non-judgemental, and person-centred.

You can expect:

  • A warm, confidential welcome in a safe and supportive environment
  • An initial assessment where we take time to understand your experiences, needs, and goals
  • A clear treatment plan developed with you, at a pace that feels right
  • Ongoing one-to-one and/or group-based support focused on recovery, stability, and wellbeing

We also understand concerns around privacy, stigma, and fear of being judged or recognised. Confidentiality is taken extremely seriously, and your information is handled with care at every stage.

Recovery is a journey, not a one-size-fits-all process. Our role is to walk alongside you, offer guidance and encouragement, and help you build the skills and confidence needed for long-term recovery — while working with trusted partner services to provide the wider support you may need.

If you’re thinking about entering treatment, know that you will be listened to, respected, and supported every step of the way.
